Old School Prospecting To Book More Meetings

Actionable Cold Email Tip

I recently started booking sales meetings for business with personalized prospecting.

Now that I’m seeing results, I’m doubling down to dial in a system in to consistently convert high quality prospects into warm sales calls with direct personal outreach.

I bring this up because I want to share a few thoughts on how it works so you can start implementing into your own lead generation efforts.

We’ll call this strategy Dream 100 or “account based” prospecting.

It’s a strategy where you first identify the top 100 people you’d like to work with. These are the top of your market, best fit potential customers.

Think of these customers as the absolute cream of the crop. Logos that would change the game for you and the entire trajectory of your business.

Then you go out to your Dream 100 with personalized outreach via email and DMs.

This means reaching out to prospects with a custom note, following up and staying front of mind.

Its as simple as making yourself known, making yourself useful and then making yourself the logical and only option to work together.

The best thing about outbound messaging is that you can do it over different channels like LinkedIn or x. Decide your channel based on where your ideal fit client hangs out most.

The hardest part about this process is staying consistent.

So what you need to do is… wait for it… block out 1-2 hours per day and put in the work.

There is no easy way around this, except just doing it.

Once you get your workflow locked in, then you can start thinking about automating or delegating the process.

I set a 60 minute time block every single morning to work on manual prospecting and it’s working. So I will continue to do it until I’m proven otherwise.

This is how I’m going about it:

  1. Identify your top most valuable leads

  2. Add them to a lightweight CRM in Google Sheets

  3. Create a deliverable, Loom audit or direct offer to do something valuable for the client.

  4. Put together your outreach. Make sure they know it’s free.

  5. Hit them up over email, LinkedIn, X, SMS.

  6. Follow up 2 days later, 3 days later, 7 days later, 14 days later, and then every 30 days until the rest of time.

  7. Book them in and close them.

As a side note, expect to follow up at least 4 times. I’ve seen the average cold email meeting book between follow up 1 and 4.

Business owners are busy, so focus on adding value and stay front of mind.

    Company A has 5 case studies, Company B only makes claims. Who wins? Company A by a landslide. I’ve seen this story play out time and again across my own client base. Moral of the story: you can’t have enough social proof. Stack case studies and client wins screenshots all over your landing page and social pages. You cannot build too much trust with prospects.
