Cold Email Tip of the Week
If you're lucky you'll nail your first cold email campaign & convert a huge number of prospects.
Most will need to learn the skill and then test over and over again until they are able to find what works
There’s a way to do this systematically and it’s to think about it like a science experiment.
Here's how to do audit your cold email campaign like a scientist in less than 30 seconds.
First make sure you have meaningful data - enough to draw actual conclusions. Many underestimate how much volume you really need to have statistical significance.
Once you have 1,000 + data points, then review what campaign angles are working and what aren’t.
Lowest conversions and bad outcomes like unsubs, stop and not interested replies should be removed.
Review top performers defined as those angles that drive optimal outcomes and conversions. Focus on positive intent replies, meetings booked. (Do not focus on open rates as this is a vanity metric).
Declare winners based on this review. You now have a control group.
Use the control group to create 5 more iterations per ideal customer profile and develop your new campaign.
Launch your campaign.
Collect your data
Iterate.

How to Send 1,000 Cold Emails Per Day
To send at scale you'll need to buy multiple secondary domains.
To determine how many you need, decide how many emails you want to send per day.
To send 1,000 emails per day, we'll want to consider the following constraints:
25 emails per day per sending inbox
2 sending inboxes per domain
50 emails per day per domain
So if you're sending 50 emails per day per domain, you'll want to 20 domains.
1,000 total daily emails / 50 emails per day = 20 domains
Use this math to scale up or down accordingly.
10,000 total daily emails / 50 emails per day = 200 domains
You get the picture.
How many clients can I close by sending 1,000 emails per day?
So how does sending 1,000 emails per day translate into paying clients?
Let's break down the math model. Assume there are 20 business days in 1 month.
If you send 1,000 emails per day across 20 domains, you'll be able to send 20,000 emails per month.
If you are sending a campaign across 3 steps that means you have capacity to reach out to 6.7k net new prospects per month.
If you can book 1 new sales call for every 1,000 prospects contacted then you can assume you're able to book at 6.7 meetings in a month.
Let's say you can close 1 client out of every 5 new sales calls, or a 20% close rate.
This means you should be closing 1 new client per month (technically 1.2 new clients per month but let's round down for easier math).
If you want to close ~4 new clients per month or 1 per week, then you'll need 80 domains or capacity to send 4,000 emails per day.
This is a basic benchmark if you're newer to closing cold traffic. If you're experienced your metrics will look better.
