Actionable Cold Email Tip
Having used Clay for over 1,000 hours, I’ve found 100+ different use cases to get results with the platform.
I’ve been sharing these learnings publicly and get DMs from business owners asking about Clay’s learning curve and if they should use it for their go to market.
Most people also reference the price tag and want to know how to use the platform economically.
If you’re not familiar with Clay’s credit system, Clay essentially resells data enrichments at a markup compared to buying the data direct from a provider.
This means you get fractional access to an entire portfolio of data tools for one monthly subscription compared to buying a bunch of individual full priced subscriptions.
Digging in a bit further, if you look at Clay on the surface, you’d realize some credits are worth it while others are very expensive and lower leverage.
If you spend all of your credits using doing a lower leverage enrichment, then you’ll be burning your credits which means burning your cash at the same time
Since I’ve already burned thousands of credits in the platform, I wanted to share my learning with you so you don’t have to.
I’ve uncovered best practices to get more juice out of Clay and even build out a full list without using a single credit inside the platform.
The 80/20 takeaway is to leverage Clay’s free list building tools and connect your existing data subscriptions (think data providers like Findymail or ChatGPT) to Clay via API.
