Actionable Cold Email Tip
It takes an unreasonable amount of time to build trust with cold prospects.
They do not know you, trust you and haven’t asked to be contacted by you.
Compare this to inbound leads, warm leads or referrals where you have implied trust already built in.
This means there’s a big gap to cover when you’re selling into cold audiences.
If you want to convert cold leads at scale, you’ll need a dialed in process to build trust over an extended time frame.
Think about it. Only 3% of the market is in a buying cycle today. That doesn’t mean your offer is only ‘interesting’ to 3% of the market.
Someone could still reply with interest today and not be ready to make a decision for 1 month, a quarter or even an entire year.
Let me explain with a story from my own business.
I recently closed a new deal with a client who has been getting nurture emails from me for over 6 months.
Here’s how the conversion went down. They booked in an initial meeting in July 2024.
I ran my sales process and they weren’t ready to pull the trigger. So we parted ways and I continued to share nurture emails with them.
Nurture emails are a mix of lead magnets, new offers, YouTube trainings and actionable insights proving I’m able to do what I claim.
They received an email from me a minimum of 1x per week and in most cases multiple emails per week totaling over over 35 nurture emails.
Then in early January, they re-engaged and we quickly closed into an intro offer.
You might think: “dang, that’s a lot”.
That’s because it is a lot. But it’s what is necessary to convert someone who doesn’t trust you to into someone who is willing give you money.
So today’s action step is to get your nurture dialed in.
If you’re doing outbound, you should already be making actionable, useful content. So use your content as a reason to reach back out to your prospects.
Here’s a framework you can apply on your own:
“Hey NAME, I recently made a training showing you how to get VALUABLE RESULT. This has helped CASE STUDY COMPANY achieve RESULT in TIME.
What works to discuss helping you achieve something similar?”
Continue to send a nurture email 1-5x times per week and watch your cold leads turn into paying customers.

Quick bite-sized pointer: Prospects can smell neediness a mile away. If too much is riding on a single sales call, the prospect can sense it and you're doomed to fail. A calendar filled with meetings is the antidote to neediness. Reduce reliance on 1 sales call by doing more outreach to take more sales calls.
