Cold Email Mistake - Not Following Up
Hey there, it’s Isaac from Leads to Earnings. Welcome to the newsletter.
(est. 3.5 minute read)
Today I will be going over:
How to do follow up without being needy
The secret to building trust at scale
I will also share a few cold email links and tips.
Hopefully you enjoy it.
Actionable Cold Email Tip
Let's say you're running a cold email campaign that is generating positive replies. How many times would you follow up?
1, 3, 5 times?
The answer is: as many as it takes.
I've closed numerous deals with clients after more than 25 follow ups over a 12+ month time frame.
When a prospect responds to your cold email with positive intent, expect to follow up in perpetuity until they convert or say "no".
Once you get an interested reply, follow up 4-5 times over the next month
If there's still no response, then space your long term follow ups over 14-30 days
Say a prospect replies….
First respond to their question and push into a meeting with a direct call to action.
Then nudge them along with your follow up.
If you're adding value with your follow up, no good fit prospect is going to tell you to pound sand (and if they do, they they aren't a good fit anyway).
Mix in quick reminder follow ups with value focused follow ups pointing the prospect to a high value asset like a case study, lead magnet, YouTube video, or Loom.
Follow Up Checklist
Follow up steps: +1 day, +3 day, +5 day, +7 day, +14 day, +30 day
Value Add: Add value with lead magnet, YouTube video, or Loom
Don't be afraid of follow up

Quick bite-sized pointer: The secret to building trust with your audience at scale? Create high leverage media (video content) that has actual utility. If you're wondering about utility, ask yourself, would I pay $5 for this? If you would, share it with your audience. If not, then go back and do it again focusing on adding value.
