Practical application of your lead to meeting ratio

Actionable Cold Email Tip
Sending out generic, one-size-fits-all messages that don’t address the prospect’s specific needs or interests is a total campaign killer.
When I review business owner's email campaigns, many of them write long, emails that are focused on "me".
Instead, position your message in terms of how you can benefit the prospect, how you can help them solve their pains and how you can help them achieve their goals.
First think about exactly what our prospect's goals are, what are they trying to avoid, what do they want to accomplish, what have they already tried and failed at.
If you can speak to their problems and business challenges, they're much more likely to believe that you can actually solve them.
Use this framework to create a cold email that converts.
Give relevant reason why you're reaching out
“Noticed you're head of growth at COMPANY - curious if you're currently challenged with {PAIN POINT YOU SOLVE}?”
Position your offer as a way to:
sign more clients
make more money
save time or money
grow their business
make their services more valuable
“We help INDUSTRY companies achieve RESULT in TIME without ICKY THING”
Prove your claim with a relevant case study
“We recently helped COMPANY do this and based on my research we can help you too.”
One simple clear call to action.
Get the prospect to do one thing - take the next step.
“Any interest in seeing a 3 minute Loom video showing how we help achieve RESULT?”

Quick bite-sized pointer: I’ve been thinking about the saying “volume negates luck” lately. This is especially useful in the context of cold outbound because the amount of outreach you do is directly proportional to your results. Cold email results are linear meaning, once you understand your conversions, you can pretty easily predict how your system will perform at varying levels of scale. For example, if you are generating 1 meeting for every 1,000 prospects contacted, you can simply add more inputs (emails & prospects) to generate more outputs. For example, if you know you have a 1: 1,000 lead to meeting ratio, you can assume you will need to reach out to 5,000 prospects to generate 5 meetings. The takeaway here is to use your lead to meeting ratio to validate your offer and targeting hypothesis. Once you’ve established a clear benchmark, then work to scale it up with more volume to maximize your results.
