Does cold email even work for me? Why do some businesses seem to be killing it with cold email while I can't even get a reply?

You might think every lead you get from cold email is bad or nobody reads their email anymore or people are just shopping around, nobody really intends to buy or it’s too spammy or maybe you've gotten burned by other agencies in the past.

Perhaps you've tried to run cold email yourself but haven't gotten good results, so it must not work, right?

The fact is… having a dialed-in cold email system is one of the biggest competitive advantages you can have as a business owner.

I know this because one of my clients just closed a new 90k customer in the first month working with me. That includes 2 weeks of warmup and just 2 weeks of sending.

Speed.

Not everyone is going to get results like this, but I wanted to share this with you to show you what is possible when you take action, focus on your highest leverage activities and work with a competent growth partner.

Here’s a quick overview of the process we used to generate results FAST:

  1. Setup sending infrastructure across Google and MSFT inboxes to send emails at scale

  2. Mapped their TAM (total addressable market) across their 3 most profitable verticals to find all of the relevant companies they would ever want to work with

  3. Built a targeted list of decision makers satisfying a set of qualification criteria

  4. Created a list of their 10 most compelling value propositions and cherry picked the top 5 most quantifiable

  5. Applied their value props to a standardized cold email messaging framework to test with their TAM

  6. Guided the client on building a video sales letter (VSL) and a value packed Loom audit to warm leads and get them to engage

  7. Dialed in appointment setting process focused on responding to leads within 5 minutes

  8. The client had a great intro offer with a great outcome that delivers. This sold the lead and got them across the line to become a paying customer.

This win was a huge team effort. In the end, having someone who knows what to do and can show you each step makes you move forward way faster than trying to figure it out alone.

Once you dial in your big levers, all you need is a process that focuses on consistent testing, data collection and analysis. In short, build your list, create a campaign focused on testing 3-5 value props and then launch. Review your reply data, iterate on the value props that generate positive replies and get rid of any that do not generate replies. Keep testing until you hit a lead to interested reply ratio of 1 to 100.
